The short version
This site has no accounts, no sign-up and no server that stores anything you type. Every calculation runs inside your own browser, and the numbers you enter are never transmitted anywhere. What follows is the detail, including the third parties your browser does contact.
What stays on your device
Your scenarios are saved in your browser’s local storage under the key
ol-state, so the figures are still there when you come back. That data never
leaves your device and is not readable by this site’s operators. Clearing your browser’s
site data deletes it, and so does using a private window.
A share link carries the scenario after the # in the URL. Browsers do not send
the part after the # to servers, so a shared link’s numbers travel only to
whoever you send the link to.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-ENJN0ZBM1M) to count visits
and see which pages get read. It sets cookies and records things like the pages you view, a
rough location derived from your IP address, and your device and browser type. It does not
receive the values you type into any calculator. Google’s handling of that data is covered by
its own privacy policy, and
Google publishes a browser
opt-out. Blocking cookies or using a content blocker also stops it.
Other requests your browser makes
Loading a page fetches typefaces from Google Fonts and the charting library from cdnjs, which is operated by Cloudflare. Both see your IP address and browser details simply because your browser asked them for a file, in the same way any website request works. Neither receives anything you enter here.
Advertising
There are no ads on the site today. Advertising is planned, and affiliate arrangements may follow. When either arrives, the providers involved may set their own cookies, this page will be updated before that happens, and it will say who they are.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
You can clear your saved scenarios at any time through your browser’s site-data settings, block cookies, or use the analytics opt-out above. If you are covered by the GDPR, the UK GDPR, Canadian privacy law or the CCPA and want to ask about the limited data described here, write to the address below.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date below changes with it. Material changes will be described rather than quietly folded in.
